HP Photosmart Premium TouchSmart printer

This thing doesn't make a lot of sense in todays world.  This is a printer with essentially an iPod touch attached to it, allowing you to print without using a computer.  What is the point?  Who buys a printer and doesn't have a computer sitting less than 5 feet away?  Who wants to tap through a series of menus on a little screen to print a map when you can just go to a map website and press print.  Cnet did a little test and it took the person using the printer nearly a minute longer to print the same map.  Who even prints maps anymore?  This printer lists for $400, if someone is shelling out that much for a novelty printer, they probably have a GPS already.

I am aware that this post isn't very good, but this printer really confuses me.  Bravo for HP trying something different, they just should have tried something that was different and USEFUL.  This is what I call innovation for the sake of innovation.

First!

To try and keep myself sharp and up to date with current trends of the things I am interested in (publishing, newspapers, magazines, technology, photography) I decided to keep a little blog.  With any luck this will be updated weekly.
